Integrating Transcription Platform and Electronic Medical Records

One of the biggest issues you will have when it comes to applications is that they never work together. They are completely asymbiotic or independent from one another. Hence, it's not impossible that certain information will appear redundant or lost once you collate all the relevant data that are stored in every program.

Besides improving the productivity of the health care providers, the accuracy level of the transcriptionists will also be enhanced. They have additional data that they can refer to, just in case certain portions of the dictations don't appear to be clear to them.

Then you have the Orders interface, which works similar to the ADT interface. The only difference is that there are additional lines for every order for every patient. For example, if there are more than 2 scan orders for patient A, each of them will be reflected properly into the transcription platform. The software, after all, has the ability to split the different orders into individual ones.

Can One Expect More?

There are also a number of things that you can expect further from the transcription platform. One of these is the FirstDraft, which is considered to be the best back-end speech recognition tool. Its function is similar to the speech recognition applications in the market, though FirstDraft can already determine where to place the punctuations, what letters to capitalize, and where the sentence boundaries are. This way, the medical transcriptionist doesn't have to spend a lot of time editing documents.
